    There have many games that have tried to emulate Nintendo's success with the Pokemon series, but few have done it as well as Miscrits of Volcano Island. It's the rare social game that actually feels epic. The world is huge and varied, and exploration is very satisfying. The game doesn't stray too far from the incredibly successful formula it's emulating, but at the same time it manages to create a feel all of its own.

    It's a situation we've all thought about at one point. What would it be like to be trapped on a deserted island? The strangely titled Lagoonia lets you experience this firsthand as the lone survivor of a plane crash. Using the resources on hand you'll have to eek out a life, while exploring the island to learn that there may be a bit more there than just trees and sand. The quality of gameplay doesn't quite match the quality of the concept, but Lagoonia still provides a largely enjoyable experience for those who've wondered what it would be like to be a character on Lost. Without the smoke monsters, of course.

    If 2011 is remembered for one thing, it might just be the deluge of popular game franchises that made their way to Facebook. Plenty of familiar faces were given the social treatment with new free-to-play Facebook games, and the results varied quite a bit.
