    If you took CityVille Hometown and placed it smack dab in the middle of a forest populated with anthropomorphic beavers and bunnies, well, you'd have ForestVille. The two games play virtually identically to one another, which is to say that they play like slimmed down versions of CityVille. And while it's nice to see Zynga branch out with a fun new setting, it's disappointing that the very first original "Ville" game on mobile is simply a re-skinned version of an existing game.

    Popcap is continuing its tradition of making its hit games available on seemingly every available platform, today announcing that an HTML5 version of Bejeweled is now available on the Chrome web store and that both Peggle and Plants vs Zombies will soon be available on Android-enabled devices.

    There's really no way of getting around the fact that Jewel Story is Puzzle Quest on Facebook. Which means that it's a fairly generic fantasy role playing game where the combat has been replaced with a turn-based version of Bejeweled. It may not do anything particularly new with the formula but, aside from a few niggling little issues, it's a solid and enjoyable way to get your match-3 RPG fix.

    Since Bejeweled Blitz took the Facebook world by storm, puzzle games on the platform have largely become formulaic. And Bayou Blast isn't an exception. It features bite-sized, minute long gameplay sessions combined with fun power-ups and a charming, colorful presentation. Thankfully, it also includes a somewhat novel twist on the standard match-3 formula to make it a viable alternative to the glut of Facebook puzzlers.
