      Ark of Sinners Advance Review

      By Alex De Vore

Spanish developer Anima Game Studio's Castlevania-ish side-scroller, Anima: Ark of Sinners, was previously released as a WiiWare game in 2011 to moderate reviews, and now iOS publisher BulkyPix is giving the game the iDevice treatment in the form of Anima: Ark of Sinner Advance. You are Celia, a mega-babe of a sword master who finds herself lost in the mysterious Ark City. You awake here with zero memories beyond having been separated from your comrade. You must explore the many districts and locales in hopes of finding your buddy while also attempting to regain your memory and find out how the hell you wound up here.

      Slayin Review

      By Alex De Vore

If there is one thing that the rise of iOS gaming has proven, it's that the world is full of dedicated independent developers who finally have a platform to easily showcase their works of passion. We're talkin' clever artistic types who might otherwise have a tough time breaking into the industry. These are developers who've honed their game-crafting skills for little reason beyond the love of the medium, and Pixel Licker is one such developer.

      Alien Hive Review

      By Alex De Vore

Admit it—we've all had the same thought from time to time: "Why oh why can't there be a match-three puzzle game that combines the stripped-down brilliance of Bejeweled with the evolutionary excitement of Pokemon?" Seriously…it's been a major problem since the dawn of games. Well these concerns can finally be laid to rest thanks to developer appxplore's (Sporos) newest release, Alien Hive.

      Block Fortress Review

      By Alex De Vore

Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft! It seems like that's just about all gamers can talk about anymore. OK, that's not true, but the game of collectin' and buildin' did seem to become an interactive missing link of sorts. Suddenly, even the most casual gamer had a reason to cross the divide from casual to legitimate challenge…y'know, a more deep and rewarding experience. Thus, it was only a matter of time before somebody came along and took the concept in different directions.

      1001 Attempts Review

      By Alex De Vore

You've really got to hand it to Spanish developer Cookiebit. This über-small team has only been creating games since the latter part of 2011, but with a knack for subtle simplicity and a unique bent on the greatest elements from gaming past, they've put together some of the most addictive mobile and tablet titles in recent memory—just check out the Tetris-esque Gravitron Block if you don't believe us—And now with the newly released iOS 8-bit spectacular, 1001 Attempts, the boys at Cookiebit are taking game addiction to a whole new level.
