      Futuridium EP Review

      By Alex De Vore

Remember when Starfox hit the Super Nintendo way back when? Do you remember how amazed we all were by the "hyper-realistic" polygonal graphics quality and unprecedented dogfights in space realism? Well so does developer Mixedbag, and they're out to prove it with Futuridium EP, a decidedly lackluster title that will drive even the most seasoned gamer to the brink of insanity.

      Saturn Defense Review

      By Alex De Vore

In the future, all of Earth's resources have been depleted, forcing mankind into space to search for alternative energy solutions. The rings and moons of Saturn, being rich deposits for the elements and minerals we need to fuel our never-ending obsession with progress and ease-of-life, become a sort of large-scale energy mine for our struggling race; but all is not well. Hostile aliens have taken notice and will stop at nothing to reclaim their extra-terrestrial territory. Through strategy, patience, and high-tech weaponry, we must fight back to ensure the future stability of our once proud race.

      City Cat Review

      By Alex De Vore

Russian developer Nevosoft (Million Dollar Quest, My Kingdom for the Princess 2) has taken the increasingly popular endless-runner genre and infused it with a healthy dose of 8-bit charm and adorable kitten action in the newly released City Cat. This new title finds its hero in a cute li'l cat named Pixel whose food has been cruelly stolen by a heartless gang of aliens. In order to reclaim his fridge full of goodies, he must now traipse across the globe's most beautiful and iconic cities dodging obstacles, picking up dropped foodstuffs, gathering coins, and upgrading his unique arsenal of powers.

      Smash Spin Rage Review

      By Alex De Vore

You were once a proud Samurai warrior bound by honor to protect your village and countrymen. You once embodied the tenets of the ancient discipline to a T, and all foolish enough to challenge you were felled by your powerful ball and chain. You were once part of a glorious line between order and chaos; one in a long line of fearsome champions…and now you are dead.

      After Earth Review

      By Alex De Vore

Did you know that Will Smith summertime blockbusters have opened number 1 at the box office for something like, 75 years in a row? Yup, it's true. Even the dreadful Wild Wild West did well with moviegoers, but sadly, that streak has ended with the recent After Earth: an original story by Smith starring the man himself and his son, Jaden. The M. Night Shyamalan-directed vehicle—which has faced allegations of subtle Scientology propaganda— opened to low numbers recently, so is it really a surprise that the licensed iOS game would be similarly disappointing? Nope.

      Nikko RC Racer Review

      By Alex De Vore

It's actually a pretty ingenious idea to develop a video game that can be cross-promoted with actual, physical products. Just look at the success/cash cow that console games like Skylanders have become, and it is kind of a no-brainer. It's thanks to this concept that the fine folks at Nikko and Paladin Studios (Momonga Pinball) have released a new iOS racing game that not only provides plenty of fun for racing fans, but also reminds us that there's still a lot to like about RC cars.

      Boom! Review

      By Alex De Vore

Let's just call Boom! what it is—a slightly different take on the Angry Birds formula. In the newest game from developer Happy Sprites, you play as some sort of green alien-like dude who must save his caged pal Pinky from the evil wizard Belzaar by riding his monocycle (yeah, monocycle) through various physics-based/platforming levels.

      Dark Avenger Review

      By Alex De Vore

Diablo has influenced a large number of dungeon-crawling loot-fests that, while sometimes marginally entertaining, have never really been able to match the sheer scope of the PC classic. But as the iOS gaming experience grows more refined, so too do the options for mobile hack 'n' slash experiences. Some of these titles (Dungeon Hunter or Castle Master 3D)aren't half bad, either. No, they're not as huge as their PC or console cousins, but this is only to be expected of the medium, and there is still plenty of fun to be had. The recently released RPG Dark Avenger follows in these footsteps, and is packed with quite a bit more content than you might expect from a F2P title.
