The PC version of Lumines is in the running for Best Puzzle Game of 2007 at the upcoming Zeeby Awards. We chatted with the team at Q Entertainment about what makes Lumines special and why it deserves to get your vote.

Can you give us insights or fun facts about the development of this game?

Lumines is a very simple game, but what makes it exciting is the synchronization of the music and gameplay.

We spent countless hours on perfecting that element and believe it is what makes the game so addictive. We also had a lot of fun coming up with the designs/theme of each of the "skins" (background visual).

What makes Lumines special, and why should people vote for it?

Lumines is not just a block-dropping puzzle game with background music – it indulges the fusion of puzzle play, stylish visuals and upbeat music from a variety of genres that is dynamically synched with gameplay. Also, it’s easily accesible through WildGames.

Besides your own game of course, what other games impressed you in 2007?

Peggle. The game may seem pretty simple, but once you start playing, it requires strategy and skill. The execution of "fever" is brilliant – no wonder why everyone has "Peggle fever!"

If you win a Zeeby, how do you plan to celebrate (aside for going to Disneyworld, of course)?

Since we’re in Tokyo, we’ll go to Tokyo Disneyland!

Any final words for your fans?

Thank you for voting for Lumines! We couldn’t be more excited with this nomination and are very proud of our best-selling franchise being acknowledged by the casual game community.
