Turn Left is a game about making turns through oncoming traffic. It’s a simple, timing-based puzzler that layers a few twists on top of its simple mechanics to keep you on your toes. It can be challenging if you’re not sure what you’re supposed to be doing, especially when you get deeper into the experience.

So we’ve written you this guide. It’s packed full of all of the strategies we’ve picked up during our time playing Turn Left, and now we’re sharing them with you. Because sharing is super cool. Follow these strategies and you’ll be avoiding many a crash.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve turned left a thousand times or you’re just pulling cautiously towards your first junction, there’s going to be something here to help you out. So let’s do this – here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Turn Left.

Be patient

The key to success here is waiting for your moment. Keep an eye on everything that’s happening and choose the right time to send one of your cars through the gap. Don’t try and thread the needle or make plays where you’re going to have to get lucky – wait for the right time and you’ll do much better.

Use all the space

When there are multiple lanes of traffic, think about how best you can exploit that. If there’s just a single car moving down the far lane, move across into the empty lane to give yourself an easy completion. Use all of the space that the game offers and you’ll be able to finish the levels much quicker.

Don’t hit pedestrians

This one is a bit of a no-brainer, but it’s sometimes easy to forget that it isn’t just other cars you’re trying to avoid. Watch out for the pedestrians crossing at the intersection and factor them into your movement calculations. Hitting one of them will cause you to fail the level, so be careful and be considerate.

Push your luck a bit

This might run contrary to the first tip, but you can push your luck just a little bit from time to time to get a better score. It’ll also help you build up your fever meter. Use calculated risk to gain near misses and get more points – passing close to cars and pedestrians will let you do just that.

Only revive in part two

You can watch a video to get another chance when you fail a level. You only get one of these per level, so you should use them when you’re deeper into the challenge. Fail in the first section and you’re only going to have to go back a little bit – fail in the later sections and you have to go all the way back to the beginning. Be smart with your retries and don’t waste time watching videos that aren’t going to help you that much.
