High School – First Day is a simple simulation game that sees you making the choices on your first few days of school. Should you hold a party? Should you go camping with a stranger? Should you bribe a kid to build you a time machine? Those sorts of things.

Some of the choices are tougher than others, so we figured it was a good idea to write this guide. We’ve played a good chunk of High School – First Day and uncovered the strategies you need to make sure you’re always making the right choice.

Whether this is your first first day or you’ve been playing for a while, there’s going to be something in these hints, tips and cheats to help you out. So let’s cut the prattle and get on with it, shall we?

It’s pretty much 50/50

Often there’s not much logic to the choices you need to make. What can feel like the best decision at the time can lead to a game over screen just as easily as taking the far out choice. When it comes time to decide, just pick whichever one you feel like and see what happens.

Learn from your mistakes

When you do fail, it’s important to remember where you went wrong. Otherwise you’re just going to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Remember the choices you made, and make different ones the next time round.

Only use rewinds on the last challenge

When you fail a level, you get a chance to rewind and make your choice again. This is only really worth it if you’re on the last chunk of the challenge – you can see where you are by the bar on the top of the screen. Rewind earlier, and you’re not really saving yourself any time.

Use the video options

When the game offers you a choice with a video, it’s worth taking the time to make it. Not only are you sure you’re making the right decision, it’ll also usually end up with something interesting happening. If you don’t want to watch the videos, just poke the other choice – you can’t really go wrong here.

Should you change your clothes?

When you’re going to an event, you’ll get a chance to watch a video to change your outfit. This boils down to a purely aesthetic choice – nothing different is going to happen because you’ve changed your clothes. Save your video watching for times when it’s actually going to make a slight difference.
