Switch Race is another one of those games where you need to switch the vehicle you’re using to get past obstacles. You’ll collect new vehicles, face tougher opponents and have to have your wits about you if you want to get to the end of the race in first place.

And that’s where this guide comes in. We’ve uncovered the strategies that you’re going to need to get to the finish line before your foes. Follow these suggestions and they’ll see nothing but your dust.

This guide is for everyone – first timers, seasoned race switchers and everyone in between. These are the hints, tips and cheats that you need to make you the best racer the world has ever seen.

You don’t have to watch the videos to get the new vehicles

When you unlock a new mode of transport, the game will ask you to watch a video to unlock it. You don’t have to do that. Instead tap on the skip button and you’ll have the vehicle ready to go in the next level. We’ve already saved you a decent chunk of time right there – you’re welcome.

Swap to the fastest mode of transport

When you’re on a flat section between obstacles, it’s a good idea to swap to the fastest mode of transport at your disposal. That way you’re going to get to the next challenge much quicker. Just because you smashed through those barrels with your digger doesn’t mean you have to trundle to the next swap point.

Remember what works

Keep an eye on what’s ahead of you, and remember which vehicle you need to conquer it. That way you’re going to be in the best position when it’s time to switch. Check what you’ve got and know what you need to swap to and you’e going to do just fine.

Some vehicles have two or more roles

The motorbike, for example, can leap over jumps, ride over single-pole gaps and fit through tunnels. When you’ve got multiple options for which vehicle to use, you should always try and use the fastest one. If you’re not sure which to use, then just be sensible. What’s going to fit? What’s going to get over that? Use your common sense and you’ll figure it out.

What do the costumes do?

The costumes are purely aesthetic. They change the look of your main character, but they’re not going to make it easier to get over, under or through any of the obstacles the game throws in your direction. In other words, it probably isn’t worth your time watching the videos to unlock them.
