If you’re a fan of tabletop games, you’re no doubt already aware of Railroad Ink Challenge.

Released in 2018, this hugely successful roll and write game from publisher Horrible Guild has already received a number of expansions, funded by a massive Kickstarter campaign that raised more than 500,000 Euros.

And now, Railroad Ink Challenge has come to a screen near you.

Designed by Hjalmar Hach and Lorenzo Silva, the acclaimed duo behind The King’s Dilemma and Dragon Castle, Railroad Ink Challenge sees you rolling dice and drawing routes to connect the railway and highway exits around your board.

Your goal is to expand your network with railways, highways, and stations, but you need to plan each move carefully because you’ll quite rightly be penalised for any connections that you leave open at the end of the game.

Special structures trigger special effects on your network. For instance, Factories duplicate a route, Stations generate bonus points when you build them next to Villages, and Universities give you access to special routes.

There are optional time-limited goals to achieve in each game, too, allowing you to score even more points.

The digital version of Railroad Ink Challenge is being handled by the team behind Potion Explosion, Dragon Castle, and Similo, so it appears to be in good hands.

You can expect to find 100% asynchronous multiplayer challenges, which means you won’t need to wait for other players to show up before you can make your own moves. And the multiplayer will be totally cross-platform between PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

On top of that there will be private and public challenges, allowing you to see who did best with the same dice and goals, and you’ll be able to strive for bragging rights by dominating the daily, monthly, and all-time leaderboards.

Railroad Ink Challenge is out on all platforms today, with expansions from the physical board game like Forest, Desert, and more planned for the future. You can download Railroad Ink Challenge by clicking here.
