Marvel Future Revolution, Netmarble’s superheroic ARPG launched on the App Store and Google Play Store yesterday. It’s a gorgeous-looking, action packed adventure, and it’s well worth checking out. But if you’re just starting out, you’re probably wondering which the best characters to pick are.

That’s where this tier list comes in. We’ve broken down the eight starting heroes, telling you which are the strongest, what their specialities are, and how difficult they are to play as. With this guide you’re going to be able to pick the right heroes for you.

The difficulty ratings here are based on the game’s own ranking, while the rest is based on how the characters actually play. So let’s do it – here’s our tier list for all of the characters in Marvel Future Revolution.

Black Widow

  • Tier: B
  • Difficulty: 5/5
  • Strengths: PvP

Black Widow is one of the toughest characters to perfect in Marvel Future Revolution, but she’s worth putting the effort in. Not really a surprise, since she doesn’t really have any super powers except being good at kicking.

Captain America

  • Tier: S
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • Strengths: PvE

Cap is a great bet for your starting character. He’s not as tough to get to grips with as some, and his mix of moves make him good for both getting into and out of fights. He’s better suited to taking down foes than other players, which is kinda fitting.

Captain Marvel

  • Tier: S
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Strengths: PvE

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that Captain Marvel sits in the highest tier of characters, she’s pretty darn powerful. She’s got a good mix of attacks and she’s not as difficult to learn as a lot of the characters.

Doctor Strange

  • Tier: A
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Strengths: Levelling

Doctor Strange is the perfect character if you want to get your level as high as you can as quickly as possible. His AoE attacks let him destroy loads of baddies at once, and that’s going to get you through the early missions pretty darn quick.

Iron Man

  • Tier: A
  • Difficulty: 1/5
  • Strengths: PvP

Iron Man is another good bet for a starting character. He might not have the versatility of the Captains, but he’s a good brute force attacker and a great way to learn the mechanics of the game. If you’re looking to get into the PvP, pick Iron Man.

Spider-Man

  • Tier: A
  • Difficulty: 4/5
  • Strengths: PvP

Spider-Man is another great choice if you want to hit the PvP ASAP. He’s strong and fast, both attributes that are going to come in super handy. Plus Spider-Man is probably the coolest Marvel hero too.

Star Lord

  • Tier: C
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Strengths: PvE

Star-Lord is probably the worst hero in the bunch, but not by much. He’s kind of a jack of all trades, which makes him a decent enough starter. We’d recommend choosing someone else, but Star Lord will serve you well if you’re a fan.

Storm

  • Tier: B
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Strengths: Levelling

Another character that’s great for levelling thanks to her AoE attacks. If you’re looking to grind through the early parts of the game as quickly as you can, Storm is a decent choice. Otherwise she’s kinda mid-tier.
