Cutting Edge is a game about pulling off tricks on an ice rink. You need to jump over obstacles, slice up watermelons and a whole lot more. There’s a lot to get your head round, and it can be a bit confusing if you’re not paying attention.
That’s why we’ve written this guide. It’s packed full of all of the hints, tips and tricks that we’ve discovered during our time playing Cutting Edge. With these strategies you’re going to be landing all of your leaps with skill and finesse.
If you’re just strapping your skates on for the first time or you’ve been slicing the ice for a while, you’re going to find something here that’s going to help you out. So, let’s get on with it – here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Cutting Edge.Â
There are always plenty of clues as to which moves you need to be pulling off. Sometimes it’s a picture of the move itself, other times it’s a matching color on the obstacle you’re trying to get past. Look for the clues and you’ll be in the best position to get past an obstacle perfectly.
You’ll want to spend your gems on upgrading your skills. There are three different stats you can upgrade and you’ll want to spread your gem spending evenly across them. These are the only things you should be spending your gems on, because they’re going to make you better at the game.
Just because you’ve got past an obstacle, that doesn’t mean that you’ve nailed it. You need to work on getting your timing perfectly. You’ll know you’ve not quite got things right because the game will say “ok” or “good” instead of perfect and you’ll stumble a bit on the ice. Work on your timing and you’ll soon be getting even better scores.
When you’ve jumped in the air at the end of a level, you’ll want to tap the screen as frantically as possible. The more you tap, the more gems you’ll get and the more you’ll have to spend on your upgrades. Tap as quickly as you can and, while the rewards aren’t enormous, they’ll start to add up.
Don’t spend your gems on unlocking new skaters – they’re pretty expensive and you’ll want to keep them for spending on upgrades. Instead, if you want to get a new skater, watch the video when you’re offered. You can still get skaters from the store, but like we said they’re very expensive. Watching a video is a bit more time consuming, but it’s better in the long run.
