Trap Room is a game about killing your victims with the tools you’ve got at hand. Sometimes that’s electricity. Sometimes it’s spikes. Sometimes it’s a massive cannon. There are loads of ways to kill here, and you’re going to have to get good at using them all if you want to succeed.

And that’s where we come in. We’ve written this strategy guide to help you out of any sticky situations you might come across while you’re playing Trap Room. Basically, these are the best hints, tips and cheats that we’ve discovered during our time playing the game. You’re welcome.

Even if you’ve already killed hundreds of stick figures, we reckon you’re going to find something here that’ll turn your slaughtering into an art form. So let’s get on with it, shall we? Here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Trap Room.

Think about the order

When there are multiple buttons on the screen, think about the order you should be pressing them in. Say there are victims on chairs, and you’ve got  cannon, water and electricity buttons. Knock them off their chairs, fill the room with water, then fire out the killing zap. Consider the best way to do things and you’re halfway towards winning.

How can you protect the green?

In later levels you’ll need to protect green characters. Kill one of them and you’ll fail the level. Watch their routines, see where they stand and figure out how you can kill everyone else without harming them. It might take you a couple of seconds to hit upon the solution, but those seconds will save you a retry.

Wait for the right time

When there are moving victims, you’ll want to wait for the perfect time to release your attack – be that when they’re stood in front of a cannon, or when they’re positioned close to some bombs. This is another case where waiting and watching can save you a whole chunk of time in the long run.

You can buy new skins

The gold you collect can be spent on new skins. These only add a cosmetic change to the experience, and you will unlock a lot of them while you play. You’ll see when you’ve got enough to buy a new skin because there’ll be a red notification mark on the shop on the front page of the game.

Remember what happens

Traps will also act in the same way, so if you remember what happens the first time you use them, you’ll be armed with that information the next time they come round. The same goes for combinations of traps. Remember what you’ve learned and you’ll be able to use it the next time you need it.
