MU Origin 2 has just reached a major milestone, hitting version 5.2. As you’d expect, the latest update comes with a host of new content, as well as tweaks and improvements to the game’s existing systems.

We won’t waste any time explaining what MU Origin 2 is. Webzen’s hugely popular MMORPG sequel is part of a lineage that goes all the way back to MU Online in 2001, so you already know that it’s an awesome fantasy RPG with a huge, established universe.

There’s a lot to cover in this latest update, so we’ll get right to the point.

First up, version 5.2 adds a new Class Change system, which – as you can imagine – lets you change the class of your character. To do this you’ll need to reach Master level 1 (level 400). You’ll also need to get yourself a Chest of Gospels, or spend some Diamonds.

Next, there’s a new Ancient Tower that you can visit in a party of two or more once you reach level 350. The Ancient Tower is available every day from 10:00 till 23:00, and it lets you win enhancement items for your Ancient Relic.

What’s an Ancient Relic? Why, it’s another new feature introduced in version 5.2. Available after you reach level 350, the Ancient Relic (and the Ancient Seal, after you reach Master level II and your Ancient Relic reaches Tier 2) gives you additional buffs.

Another new feature is Void Record, which becomes available once you reach level 210. Your Void Record is divided into Rare, Unique, and Epic grades, and it allows you to set an effect depending on the level.

As ever, the latest update increases your max character level, this time to Master IX (level 1299). It also introduces a new quest, a new achievement, and a new map called Volcano of Life, which you can enter after reaching Master IX.

There’s more, including a new pet, an additional difficulty level, several new accessories, and costume evolutions.

Meanwhile, the game’s second anniversary celebration event is starting on May the 24th and running until May the 30th. It’ll bring 3-week login bonuses, special boss monster rewards, free permanent costumes, special promotions, and other rewards.
