Slime Fest has kicked off in Dragon Quest Tact. No, it’s not a celebration of 90’s kids shows where anyone involved would end up covered in gunk, it’s a celebration of the squidgy monster type that’s such a massive part of the Dragon Quest mythos. Look at those pudgy faces and squishy smiles, what’s not to love?

In this guide you’re going to find out everything you need to know about the Slime Fest, from the new characters you can Scout, the new missions you can take on and the special rewards that are waiting for you.

What are the new monsters I can Scout?

There are two new monsters you can grab from Scout pulls, Queen Slime and Dragon Slime. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from them.

  • Queen Slime
  • Rank: S
  • Family: Slime
  • Role: Debuff
  • Stats: HP: 744, MP: 262, ATK: 219, DEF: 284, AGL: 312, WIS: 208, Move: 2, Weight: 50
  • Leader Perk: 20% boost to slime martial potency in a 5×5 area
  • Base Perk: Cruel Smile – +10% to Crack-type ability potency
  • Dragon Slime
  • Rank: A
  • Family: Slime
  • Role: Attack
  • Stats: HP: 475, MP: 220, ATK: 210, DEF: 166, AGL: 256, WIS: 147, Move: 4, Weight: 35
  • Leader Perk: 100% Crack-type breath potency to everyone in a 5×5 area

You can pick up both of them from one place – the Queen Slime SP Scout banner. Queen Slime has a drop rate of 0.7%, while Dragon Slime has a drop rate of 2.8%.

Are there any event quests?

As you might imagine, the event comes with some Event Quests. These give you Slime Fest Medals that you can trade at the Slime Fest Medal Swap Shop to get exclusive assorted items.

Here you can also pick up the A-rank monster Pickled Slime, as well as getting the Slime Dagger. This used to be a one-off reward on Slime-type battle road levels, but now you can farm it multiple times.

To open up the event quests you’ll need to have cleared Chapter 2, Episode 1 of the main story of Dragon Quest Tact.

How to unlock the boss battles

These are additional parts of the event quests that rewards you with even more Slime Fest Medals. They don’t cost any stamina to play through either, and you can pick up the Slime Dagger and the Slime Wand by completing them.

There are two levels of Boss Battle. You unlock Slime Fest Boss Battle Advanced by completing Chapter 1, Episode 5 of the Slime Fest event quest. You unlock Slime Fest Boss Battle Ultra by completing Chapter 2, Episode 5 of the Slime Fest event quest.

How to unlock Slime Fest Battle Road

The Slime Fest Battle Road is the Pickled Slime Battle Road. It’s even exclusive, so you’ll need to finish it before the event comes to an end. You’ll earn yourself an ability-unlocking Glacier Scroll if you finish it.

To open up the Slime Fest Battle Road you’ll need to have cleared Story Chapter 6, Episode 2 and have finished Magellan Road 3. That’s a lot of work, but it’s definitely going to be worth it in the long run.

Anything else I should know?

The first part of the Slime Fest runs until March 9th. Then there’ll be a new Slime Fest boss battle and a new Slime Fest Battle Road. We reckon there’ll be new monster banners in the Scout Pull section as well.

You’ll get rewards for logging in every day the Slime Fest is running. There are also event missions that will nab you some goodies, and daily Rank Up Quests for different Slime Family monsters as well.
