Roof Rails is another game from Voodoo. This ones sees you carrying a pole around and using it to roll along rails. Your aim is to get to the end of the course, collecting gems as you go. So far, so simple.

But there are some tricky sections here, and things you’re going to have to learn if you want to get as far as you can in the experience. That’s why we’ve written this guide. With these hints, tips and tricks you’re going to be rolling to victory in no time at all.

We’d love to hear your suggestions if you’ve played the game, so feel free to chuck them in the comments section at the bottom of the article. Before that, though, here’s our guide to everything you need to know to win in Roof Rails.

Know What You Can Grab

It’s important to know which things you can pick up and how you can do it. Pole extensions can only be grabbed if you move over them with the body of your character, so there’s no point trying to pick them up with the extensions of the stick you’re carrying.

Gems, on the other hand, can be grabbed by the pole. If there’s an overhang of gems, you can use your pole to pick them up. Remember this distinction as you play and you’re going to do just fine.

Aim For The Middle

When you’re falling between rails, it’s important that you aim for the middle. You’re going to need some of your pole on both rails, and this is the best way to ensure that happens.

Your pole when it grows or is cut, loses and gains length from both sides equally. You’re never going to have an unbalanced pole, which means you’re always in the very center of it.

Take The Shortest Path Through The Fire

The orange panels on the floor will reduce your pole while you move other them. If they reduce it completely you’ll die and have to start the level over again. It’s your job to find the shortest, least dangerous path over these obstacles.

Often it’s obvious, but other times you can play smart. Darting across in diagonals from white space to white space will often result in the least damage, leaving you with the most intact pole possible and the best chance of finishing the level.

What Can You Spend Gems On?

You can buy new clothes for your runner. And that’s it. They cost 5000 gems a pop, and you’ll get one at random when you decide to splurge. If that’s the sort of thing you’re into, then it’s worth watching all the videos on offer to earn more.

If not, then there’s not much point increasing your gem haul. Skip the videos and get back into the action much quicker in the same clothes you started off in.
