Mr. Slice is a game about, well, slicing things. You control everything with a single finger, which can lull you into a false sense of security. There’s more going on than poking the screen though, and you’re going to have to learn if you want to get the best scores.

It’s tempting to extend your blade as far as you can every move. Don’t do it, though. Short moves will set you up and put you in better positions than going as far as you can.
Think about where you need to be to get the most points and you’ll find yourself grabbing three stars every time. Careful play is the way to go, so take your time and don’t rush through the levels.
There are some slices you can only perform by keeping still and letting the obstacles move through your blade. You’ll figure out which ones they are by playing through the levels.
Put yourself in the correct position, then extend. Wait for the object you need to slice to move through your blade before you let go. Congratulations, you just used patience to get an even higher score.
You can check your challenges from the main menu. Completing them gets you a bunch of extra gems. Finish them all and you’ll get a special cosmetic reward as well.
The challenges refresh regularly, so make sure you keep checking back to see when you’ve got some new ones to try and finish. It’s great to have something to work towards, and the challenges give you just that.
Falling off the level is one of the few ways you can fail in Mr. Slice. Keep an eye out for gaps that you’re likely to fall down and figure out ways that you can avoid them.
It’s a good idea to tap your way up to the edge, then throw in a full extend to make sure you’re bridging the gap in the most effective way possible. Sometimes there are objects to slice moving up and down in the gaps, so time your drop to cut them up.
