Gloom: Digital Edition from Sky Ship Studios is bringing its morose family matters to the palm of your hand. The digital adaptation of the award-winning card game has landed on the App Store and the Google Play Store and it’s exactly the sort of experience that’s going to be brilliant on mobile.

If you’ve not heard of Gloom before, it started life as a physical card game created by Atlas Games. It’s all about making your chosen family as sad as possible, while trying to cheer up your opponents. The saddest clan at the end of the game is crowned the winner. You’ll be killing off brothers, making sisters cry and much, much more.

This mobile version features a single player mode as well as online multiplayer for up to four different people. There’s also a Quick Play option that lets you jump straight into the depressing action. Don’t think for a second that this is a game that’s going to make you sad, though – everything about Gloom: Digital Edition is designed to put a smile on your face, all while you’re doing the opposite to the members of your in-game family.

You’ll find five families for you to choose from – Slogar, Blackwater, Canard, Dark and Hemlock. You’ll also be able to download the Unhappy Homes DLC from the outset, adding even more fun to the digital Gloom experience.

Throw in a super gorgeous and haunting art style and you’re left with a brilliant card gaming experience that feels super comfortable on touchscreen devices. You’ll even get voiceovers for each character, to add even more to this beautifully depressing and engaging digital version of one of the best card games out there.

You can find out more about Gloom: Digital Edition by checking out the game’s official website here. Make sure you keep an eye on its Facebook and Twitter channels too.

If you’re interested in giving Gloom: Digital Edition a go, you can download it from the App Store and the Google Play Store right this second.
