My Talking Tom Friends is the latest game in the Talking Tom series. It’s a game, as you might be able to tell, about Tom and his friends. It’s your job to keep them interested, clean and well fed. Like a mix of Big Brother and a Tamagotchi.
We’ve put a good few hours into the game, and we’ve discovered some hints, tips and tricks that we think are going to really help you when you’re starting out. And we’ve collated them all into this beginners guide to My Talking Tom Friends.

Tapping the cloud above a character’s head will take you straight to where they need to be. You’ll need to then tap on the activity they’re interested in, but it’s nice not to have to remember where everything is.
Keep an eye on the cloud once an activity has finished as well. That’s how you collect your rewards. Also, your characters won’t do anything until you’ve claimed those rewards, so it’s a good idea to get them as quickly as possible.
You might have noticed that during some tasks, a joypad appears above the head of your character. If you tap on it, you can play a mini-game built around the action that they’re performing.
Not only does this help pass the time, it also gives you more rewards. While it is nice sometimes to just set your characters going and then put the game down, if you want to get a bit more involved, tap the joypad.
You can’t use the wrong healing implement. If you try, your character is going to make a face. Usually it’s pretty obvious which one they need from the ailment they have.
Another important thing to remember is that injections don’t go in arms, they go in butts. Each healing item has its own animation, and you’ll need to go through them completely to deliver the healing.
When you’ve filled up the van’s tank, you can head off to the shops. Here you can pick up new items as well as bagging some currency. Once you’ve unlocked a new item, it’ll get included in your task rotation.
You’ll know when your tank is full because an icon will appear on the right of the screen with a picture of the van on it. When it’s ready you can head straight out – it doesn’t matter what your characters are doing.
The blackboard shows you how far you’ve progressed in your tasks. You’ll get rewards when you complete a level, and you’ll be able to see when you’ve got one from a notification mark at the side of the board.
You can also see what other tasks you’re getting close to completing. It’s a great way to keep track of how your characters are doing, while earning extra goodies too.
