Candywriter is the gift that keeps on giving, providing us with a wealth of updates for our favourite text-based life simulator. The latest of these is version 1.30.1, or Mind & Body as Candywriter prefers to name it, and it’s available now.

In this guide, we’re going to detail everything that’s new in the Mind & Body update, including the new Surprise Me option, new diseases, activities, and more. If it’s something else you’re looking for, make sure to check out our Complete Guide to BitLife, where we provide links to everything we’ve written before.

BitLife Version 1.30.1 Mind & Body Update Guide

Surprise Me

Surprise Me is a great new option that allows the game to make the tough decisions for you. If you’re completely stuck on how to proceed, or just can’t be bothered, you can now hit Surprise Me whenever you have to make a decision and BitLife will choose one at random.

Speaking of random, this feature will help make the game feel a lot less predictable, as you can simply pick this option to make all of the difficult (or easy) decisions for you.

New Diseases & Disease System

So Candywriter wasn’t specific about the exact diseases we can expect to see in BitLife post-update, but it did mention something about us using our imagination. We’re going to take that as a sign that the diseases might well be venereal in nature.

There’s also a new disease system that lets you see the exact symptoms your BitLife character is experiencing in all of their nasty glory. That should be fun, right?

Activities

Candywriter has included a bunch of new activities to perform in this update, and we’re going to briefly go all through them and what you can expect from performing them below.

Martial Arts

Martial arts features its own ranking system that lets you learn special moves that you can use on your enemies. Well, probably your friends too, as this is BitLife we’re talking about.

Presumably, martial arts will help improve your overall health as well as providing a new means to defend yourself.

Diets

Be warned: not all of the new diets in BitLife are good for you. Sure, there’s veganism, which is, but there’s also the tapeworm diet. That’s swallowing a parasite and allowing it to consume all of your food so you stay thin. It’s not healthy, and it isn’t safe.

Don’t try this at home, kids.

Read Books

Want another option to improve your smarts? Well, reading books does that in real life so it makes sense that it does so in BitLife too. You can now perform this activity at any moment to improve your smarts.

Strolls & Speed Walks

Presumably, these activities will have a positive impact on your health, but we also kind of hope that they lead to unique encounters too. Who knows what’s going to happen when you leave your house?

Gardening

Last, but certainly not least, is the new gardening activity, which will work wonders for your mental health. That’s what happens in real life, isn’t it?

The Best of the Rest

Below are exact quotes taken from the patch notes for the latest update:

  • Redesigned game elements
  • Tons more text
  • Gobs more graphics
  • Blasted more bugs
