The Switch isn’t particularly short of multiplayer titles that can bring a room to its knees in laughter, so Must Dash Amigos is up against it from the off. For what it is it’s a lot of zesty fun though, if a little rough around the edges.

A top down battle-racer, it sees you competing against up to three other people on foot around a range of courses.

It’s similar to Micro Machines in that you’re on  the same screen – so once a player has left the screen by falling behind it’s all over for them.

There are a range of obstacles on the courses to avoid, but most significantly you can fire a range of weapons to slow your opponents down. These include piñata stampedes as well as inaccurate dynamite sticks.

Everything works as it should and Must Dash Amigos offers up some scrappy antics. There’s nothing for the single player here really, but the generous price-point reflects that.

Although it lacks the depth or sparkle of a true multiplayer classic – one that will see you coming back for more time and time again – Must Dash Amigos is worth a go, especially if you can catch it at a discount.

The good

  • Good hectic fun
  • Scrappy but lovable presentation

The bad

  • No real depth
  • Lack of truly exciting and unique modes

Simon has been playing portable games since his Game Boy Pocket and a very worn out copy of Donkey Kong Land 2, and he has no intention of stopping anytime soon. Playing Donkey Kong Land 2 that is. And games in general we suppose.
