Ragnarok M: Eternal Love has finally arrived in Europe, a whole 10 months after launching across the globe back in January. Better late than never though, right?

Nonetheless, those that aren’t yet familiar with the modern remake of the classic PC MMORPG have come to the right place. We’re here to walk you through the experience and provide you with a bunch of tips and tricks to help you master it.

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love – How it Works:

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love offers the classic MMORPG experience, so if you’ve played one of these before you’ll feel instantly familiar. The bulk of the experience involves completing fetch and kill quests and grinding monsters for XP.

You’ll begin by creating a character. You can choose your gender, class, hairstyle, and name, as well as take a glance through various different hat options. It’s worth noting that your class and hat options don’t actually transfer to the game – this merely gives you an introduction to the various different options.

Once inside the game, you’ll play through a brief tutorial that teaches you the basics of combat, questing, applying attributes, pets, mounts, and more. There’s actually a fair bit going on in Ragnarok M, so this is actually useful.

Combat is a lot less complex than you might be used to. You can bring three attacks to use manually in combat, which includes your auto-attack. You can also add skills to use in automatic combat if you choose to go that route instead.

Quests are standard fare though, generally involving talking to NPCs before running around the map killing monsters and fetching stuff. The mini-map is your friend here, helping you to locate exactly where you need to go.

As you complete quests and earn XP, you’ll level up, allowing you to increase your attributes. Which statistics you increase depends on the class you choose to play as, which you’ll get to pick as soon as you hit level 10.

When you hit that milestone, you should have finished the tutorial, at which point the game will open up and you can start to explore one of the major cities and its surrounding areas. You’ll also find a ton of quests to complete, meaning you’ll actually have to manage your quest tracker.

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love – Tips and Tricks:

  • Stick all stats in strength until your class change: Before you change classes, we recommend sticking all stats into strength. The early game is really easy so you just want to kill enemies as quickly as possible. Maximum strength will help you achieve that.
  • Explore all icons on the mini-map: There are tons of icons on the mini-map, some of which are obvious and others that aren’t. For example, exclamation marks are obvious indicators of a quest but there are others that are less obvious, and mind indicate side quests, collectibles, or more.
  • Focus on completing quests: Quests are the most lucrative activities you can perform in Ragnarok M, showering you with equipment, experience, gold, and more. We’d recommend focusing on these over all other forms of content – particularly during the early game.
  • Keep your pet hatched: Your pet will level up while it explores alongside you, earning base XP and intimacy level. When you’ve gathered a few pets, it’s worth keeping your favourite pet hatched so they level up faster.
  • Auto-combat is handy during kill quests: During quests when you have to kill loads of enemies, you might as well stick on auto-combat to help save you time or allow you to do something else while you wait.
