MU Origin 2 has been out since the beginning of this year, and it’s been following in the footsteps of its predecessor with some huge and dramatic content updates. The latest update tips it right over into 2.0 territory.

For the uninitiated, MU Origin 2 is a sprawling MMORPG set in the MU universe, which came into being all the way back in 2001 when MU Online went live in Korea. The first mobile MU title – MU Origin – hit the app stores a couple of years back, and is now on its tenth version.

The sequel sees you choosing from three distinct classes – Dark Wizard, Dark Knight, and Elf – and romping around on a fantasy continent killing an impressive array of exotic creatures in an equally impressive array of environments.

As you’d expect from a top flight mobile MMORPG, you can form parties, attack dungeons, join guilds, and jump into 1v1 or team battles. Plus, there’s a huge campaign to work your way through, and endless quests to complete.

The 2.0 update adds a ton of new content and features. We can’t possibly cover it all, but here’s a quick overview.

Winter of Discontent

First up, there’s the Holy Mage, a whole new class.

Then there’s seed enhance – a new feature that allows you to randomly enhance additional equipment attributes.

To use this you’ll need to reach level 280 and complete the Mutant Monster quest, after which you’ll be able to enhance your equipment with Seed Jewels and either Zen or Diamonds.

Next up is the Roc Soul feature. This unlocks at level 290 after completing the Urgent News quest, and applies specifically to your wings.

Webzen has also added Abyss: Battle Core in the latest update. This is a 4v4 match that’s available every day between 12.30 and 13.30 and again between 18.30 and 19.30, while the Abyss world is open.

If you come first in one of these battles you’ll acquire the title Core Assassin, which is pretty badass.

There’s a hell of a lot more in MU Origin 2 2.0, including more floors on the Infinite Tower, a maximum level expansion, a new map, new guardian pets, and so on.

Download it now on Google Play and the App Store to check the new content out.
