It’s that time of the year where a new season blasts its way onto our mobile devices. Typically, a season lasts around three months, so what three months of work have been included this time around?

Patch Notes

A lot of individuals have been desperately trying to find out what has changed or been tweaked this season. Every season sees a wide range of changes make their way onto our devices, so it only makes sense for there to be a buzz around the community.

Well, this time around the buzz has been met with some disgruntled fans as the patch notes are brief. So, brief it was hard to infer what has Tencent done for the past three months, besides going crazy with some skins.

The actual patch notes comprise six bullet points which are as follows:

What’s New:

  • New Royale Pass Season is here with the new EZ Mission License, character beard, and parachute/flight trails.
  • New Weapon: Skorpion, a machine pistol that fires 9mm rounds. Drops in all maps.
  • Added dedicated servers for players in the Middle East.

Other Improvements:

  • The Subscription feature has been tuned.
  • Added category tabs to the Shop.
  • Adjusted audio to reduce interruptions.

As you can see, the juicy details of what has been patched have been purposely left out, which seems like a bizarre decision. No matter how mundane a fix is, if a developer has worked to improve gameplay, then they should tell the active community about it.

There is little point complaining at the way they delivered the news to us, it is now up to us to find out what they have done.

What has changed?

Well, there were several bugs that have been plaguing the community for some time now. For those of you who somehow avoided any of the bugs I am about to mention then don’t worry, they have been squashed for season seven.

The bugs that have been fixed include:

  • The Airplane zero second bug – Where the plane would spawn early and not let players jump out
  • Door not opening bug – Where doors in the map could not open.
  • Players going in the terrain – This was the most annoying of all the bugs as players could shoot through the floor to kill you.

So, they have fixed not every single bug in PUBG Mobile, which a shame as new content is constantly arriving, but gameplay does not improve. But, some of our cries were not completely ignored as the bugs mentioned above seem to have been fixed.

What is new?

As mentioned above there is a new weapon blasting its way onto PUBG Mobile, the Skorpion. The Skorpion is a machine pistol which fires 9mm bullets at a good rate of fire. It is a great addition to the game, allowing you to make use of the pistol slot with something deadly at close range.

Other changes which I welcome include a dedicated server for the Middle Eastern community. Allowing for better communication for the entire community, as players from different regions are matched together.

There are a ton of new cosmetics added for the start of Season Seven. Almost like cosmetics have become Tencents priority in recent weeks. Anyway, there is a special New Season event running for the next week, so check back tomorrow for our guide.
