Metal Slug Infinity Guide: Tips, Cheats and Strategies

Metal Slug as an idle game. It sounds like a pretty crazy idea, and in practice it…kind of is. Having such a fast paced shooter fuelled game turned into a title where you just tap a few times and watch the action unfold is undeniably an interesting conceit though.

As with all idle games there’s a lot more to Metal Slug Infinity than you’d expect though, and that’s where we come in. Just follow these tips and you’ll be watching waves of enemies fall at the tap of your finger in no time.

• Hostage situation Make sure you keep an eye out for the hostages that are scattered throughout stages. Simply free them by tapping them – once free you’ll be showered with coins, with these essential in improving your troops.

• Red Cross You’ll want to keep an eye out for your units that are highlighted in red too – or have the ‘touch’ option on them – as simply taping on these will help you deal a little more damage to enemy troops before your slug is destroyed. Considering so much of the game will see you simply standing, er, idle this is something to help relieve some of the potential boredom you may encounter.

• Upgrade your troops An obvious tip perhaps, but make sure you keep upgrading your troops by tapping on their portraits at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise you’ll never get past the tougher foes you’ll eventually face.

• Hold on tight To improve the levels of your troops quickly hold down on their portrait on the bottom of the screen – there’s no other easier way to boost your characters‘ levels any faster sadly.

• Leave the motor running An obvious hint for any idle game, but Metal Slug Infinity keeps on running in the background even if you’re not actively playing it – so don’t worry about having it ‘on’ all the time.

• Go on a Quest Make sure you keep an eye out for the quests the game offers you. There will be several of these, and they’ll help you grab more of that all important gold. Going on these when you’re not even in game – as stated above – is an option too.

• You’ve got mail Another thing to keep an eye on is your inbox. You can find your mailbox by accessing the menu from the top right of the screen, and you’ll never know what awaits you inside – early on you’ll be gifted a fair few items, so it’s worth checking often.

• Buff up If you check out the store there’s a tab labelled ‘Buff’ that you’ll want to check out – as it will allow you to get various upgrades including improved Battle Speed and more Gold as well as Gems. Best of all is that these can all be gained by simply watching an ad.

• Excavation mission Slugs are machines you can unlock at set times in the game via the “Excavation site” option in the menus. The further you level up the more Slugs you can gain too.

• Don’t go back Once you get past stage 30 in the game you can return, but we’d advise against this. Instead wait until you’ve progressed a little further, onto level 100, as you’ll get much greater rewards.
