The thing about construction is that it’s a never-ending project. No matter how many buildings you put up and roads you lay down, there will always be room for more.

So it’s no surprise that the Construction Simulator series has proceeded, on budget and on schedule, to a third outing. Set in an idyllic town somewhere in Europe, Construction Simulator 3 is yet another adventure in building things, managing stuff, and generally getting to play around with lots of awesome heavy machinery.

This setting of in split into three distinct areas: a picturesque village, an industrial area, and a modern town. All in all it covers an impressive 3.2km-square map, giving you a massive playground to explore.

You’ll have to take on all sorts of contracts, with over 70 to complete in total. These will see you building houses, repairing roads, landscape gardening, bridge construction, and much more. You’ll be working on every kind of building, from quaint Bavarian homes to full on skyscrapers.

As ever, the fully licensed vehicles are the stars of the show. Construction Simulator 3 comes with a massive fleet of more than 50 vehicles by 14 different manufacturers.

For roadworks and refurbishments you’ve got your BOMAGs, your Caterpillars, and your HAMM AGs, while for moving earth you’ve got the Bobcat E55 compact excavator or Bobcat’s T590 compact track loader for example.

There’s a Liebherr 150 EC-B 8 Litronic tower crane, too, for letting you reach otherwise inaccessible heights.

Plus, the all new Liebherr LB28 drilling rig allows you to create massive holes for foundations, adding another string to your construction bow. And for the first time in the series on mobile you can view all the action from inside the cab, giving you a taste of what it’s like to pilot the closest thing we have to one of those giant robots out of Pacific Rim.

Construction Simulator 3 is available now on both the App Store and Google Play Store. Get to work!
