Revolve8 is Sega’s brand new multiplayer take on Clash Royale. You’ll create a team out of legendary characters like Aladdin, Sinbad, and Red Riding Hood.

These take the form of cards, and you have to create a deck out of eight of them. Only eight of the cards can actually be heroes though, with the remaining cards being magic spells and minions.

You’ll then battle against a real opponent in real-time to see who’s got the best strategy. It’s all about using the limited energy at your disposal tactically, unleashing heroes, magic, and minions to counter what your enemy throws at you.

Or you can brute force it – there are numerous different ways to play this strategic battler. If you haven’t played one of these before, we’ve got a few tips and tricks to help you get up to speed.

Revolve8 Tips and Tricks

  • Create a balanced team: This is absolutely vital if you want to succeed in Revolve8. You basically want to make a team that can counter absolutely anything. That means having a tank to soak up damage, an AoE unit to defeat the hordes, and a ranged unit to beat flying units.
  • Protect your weaker units with a tank: Sending a weak unit into battle unprotected won’t get you very far, so make sure you’ve got a tank to drop in front of them before they start invading the enemy base. It’s a good idea to keep an AoE unit behind the tank too, so they can destroy hordes.
  • Try and counter an enemy unit with a cheaper card: Whenever your opponent plays a card, try and play a cheaper card to counter it. A good example of this is using Card Squad to counter Emperor. It costs one energy less and will melt the Emperor, giving you an energy advantage. After a few counters like this, you’ll be able to unleash a powerful assault that your enemy won’t have the energy to counter.
  • Counter-attacking reigns supreme: Counter-attacking is a solid strategy for newcomers, as if you play it well it’s pretty easy to pull off and difficult to beat. Just wait for the opponent to attack and use a card that counters it – paying attention to the previous tip to gain an energy advantage.
  • Use skills appropriately: Each hero unit has a skill you can unleash at limited times to gain the upper hand. Learn what these skills do so you can use them appropriately.
  • Always have a chest being unlocked: If you win a battle, you’ll unlock a chest you can open to earn new cards, gold, and the like. It takes time to open these chests though so we recommend always having one in the process of being opened at all times.
  • Get your mission and achievement rewards: As you progress, you’ll unlock a bunch of mission and achievement rewards. These provide new cards, gold, and gems that will help give you a serious boost.
  • Only upgrade cards you plan on using: You can upgrade cards by finding a set number of duplicates and it costs gold to do so. We recommend only upgrading cards that you plan using though – particularly later on. These cards can seriously get expensive later on.
  • Pick the leader that suits your play style: You can pick a leader, which provides access to a powerful skill during battle. Take a glance at all of the skills you have available to you and pick the one that will best suit your play style.
  • Try and play enough games to get the daily bonus: Destroy 10 towers in a single day and you’ll unlock a bonus chest that provides a ton of stuff. If you plan on playing long term, we recommend at least playing enough to unlock this once per day.
