It’s no secret that PUBG Mobile will get a zombie mode in January 2019, as part of a Resident Evil 2 collaboration with Capcom.

The new mode is already available on the PC version of PUBG, but it’s yet to roll out to mobile players. When can we expect to get it?

Well, that’s exactly what we aim to answer in this guide – as well as how it might play and what to expect generally. So read on to learn everything there is to know about the upcoming zombies mode.

PUBG Mobile zombies mode: When will it release?

The official PUBG Mobile Twitter account confirmed last week that we would see the zombies mode in January 2019. That means it will definitely launch this week or next.

However, we reckon this week is much more likely. Resident Evil 2 – the survival horror adventure that the collaboration event will draw inspiration from – is out on Friday, January 25.

It just makes so much sense to launch the event to coincide with the release. Or, better yet, launch it a few days before the event to build up anticipation.

So our guess is: this week. But the latest it could launch is next year – so go ahead and enjoy the season five content while you wait.

PUBG Mobile zombies mode: How will it play?

We’re assuming that zombies mode in PUBG Mobile will function the same as it does in the PC version of PUBG.

Here, the host picks a certain number of the pool of 100 players to play as regular players, with the rest spawning as zombies.

These are likely to be the smartest zombies you’ll ever face in a video game.

There are some constraints though. Zombies can’t pick up weapons or gear, so they do go down fairly quickly. As a result, players will fare best if they work together and try and overwhelm the two players that are armed to the nines.

A zombie’s weapon? It’s fists. You’ll have to pummel your opponents to death en masse if you want to succeed here.

As we mentioned earlier, we’re not sure how it will play on mobile exactly. We do know that we’ll find out this week or next though, so watch this space.
