Hang Line is a brand new action game in which you have to navigate a treacherous snowy mountain trying to rescue trapped people – armed with only a grappling hook and a rudimentary understanding of physics.

You’ll fire your grappling hook at snowy patches on the mountain and pray that they’re stable enough to hold you as you swing perilously to your location. Along the way, you’ve got to find and rescue people trapped on the mountain.

As you progress, you’ll face increasingly difficult obstacles and environments, so you’ll have to use every tool in your arsenal and keep your wits about you.

We also recommend reading the below tips and tricks, as they’ll help keep you alive longer.

  • There’s no need to rush: You’re under no time limit and you can safely swing in a grappling spot for as long as you want. So don’t rush. Just be patient and pick your path through each level.
  • You don’t have to wait until the end of your swing to grapple again: You might be tempted to wait until the end of your swing to grapple again, but there’s really no need. You can tap on another object to grapple again immediately after you’ve grappled.
  • Rescue all survivors: The objective of each level is to rescue three survivors (aside from the odd bonus level that switches things up). Find all three in every level to earn yourself some cold hard cash.
  • Collect your donations: Each time you rescue a survivor, they’ll sponsor you. You can periodically collect these donations from within the menu, so check back often.
  • You can grapple onto rocks as well as snow: The game doesn’t explain this very well, but you can grapple onto rocks and snow. The only thing you can’t grapple onto is the mountain itself.
  • Be careful of falling rocks: Occasionally, a rock or piece of snow you grapple onto will collapse. If that lands on your head, you’re toast. So be careful!
  • Plan ahead: Plan where you’ll fire your grappling hook next so you can plan the subsequent swing. The last thing you want is to fly straight into the mountain – it really hurts your face.
  • Try a level first before wasting an item: As you progress, you’ll collect a bunch of power-ups that can help you. We recommend trying to beat a level first before using a power-up though. They’re in short supply, and you’ll want to save them until you really need them.
  • Sometimes going backwards is forwards: Don’t just head straight up the mountain or you’ll miss items and people you can rescue. If you see a new route open up beneath you, take it – you never know what you might find.
  • Don’t smash into rocks too hard: Momentum will really help you speed up the mountain, but be careful you don’t go too fast. It’s really hard to control where you’re going when you go too quick, and if you hit into a rock face at speed you’ll get stunned. That prevents you from grappling on any new surfaces temporarily.
  • If you’re short on cash, play an endless level: If you’re low on funds and can’t proceed, play an endless level and complete objectives to earn cash.
