Little alchemists all over the world, we know you’ve been obsessively hunched over your magic glowing rectangles mixing and matching tiny elements to see what you new items can create. On the epic quest to discover all 661 items in Little Alchemy 2, don’t let despair or frustration overcome you. Instead, use Gamezebo’s guide as a light in the darkness to help you on your journey. And don’t worry about spoilers because we will not be sharing any specific recipes in this guide.
Follow The Line
When you unlock something new, there are a series of actions to take that will yield additional items quickly. First, combine the new item with itself, and if it produces something new, continue combining each new thing with itself until you can’t go any further down that line. If an item is “final,” it will disappear from your workspace, which means it will not yield a new item when combined with another. After you’ve made your new items, go into the encyclopedia and read the profiles carefully. The descriptions are almost like little riddles that will you ideas on what to combine further.
Work Well in Groups
On the Items tab in the encyclopedia, you’ll see a growing list of categories that contain your items. The items grouped together in these categories are in fact hints on how to produce more in that category. If you make something that is a combination of a conceptual item (like “idea” or “philosophy”) and a concrete thing you could hold in your hand, then you know to keep combining that conceptual item with other concrete things to produce more.
When you have a group of three to five new items, line them up in your workspace and double tap to make two of them. Then, as you match up items, if one turns into yet another new thing, won’t have to go back and find it again. Test all of these in combinations to get faster results.
Know its Nature
Buildings and containers are meant to hold something inside. Tools and forces are used on something. Consider the fundamental nature of the item you are working with and try combinations that would enhance, improve, or otherwise effect its fundamental nature. Don’t worry about knowing a bunch of science because the alchemy stops being strictly scientific very early in the game. It’s more important to be clever and creative; there are references to literature, mythology, and popular culture, and a lot can be acquired with just plain common sense.
Play With A Friend
Because of the exponentially branching choices, two people playing the game at the same time will end up with entirely different catalogs of items. If you aren’t too worried about spoilers, you can work with a friend to discover new combinations. If you don’t want actual recipes, read each other’s inventory lists because even just the suggestion of a new item you don’t have can help you extrapolate how to create it yourself. Knowing what is possible to make helps you make it.
Use Hints Carefully
Three hints can be earned one at a time if you watch a video for each; then you’ll need to wait 5 hours before the next batch is available. However, each hint is based on your current inventory and what you can make with what you have right now. If you open all three of your hints at once, then as you find new combinations, those new items will increase your inventory and make your other two hints less specific. Try to open and solve one hint at a time so each hint is as specific and helpful as possible.
