We’ve been thoroughly enjoying The Elder Scrolls: Legends on both PC and iPad since its release back in March. We like it so much, in fact, that one of the few complaints in our review was its lack of support for iPhones and Android devices: it’s the type of game you want access to whenever, wherever you are. Thankfully, after a four-month wait, the game is now available to phone owners across both platforms.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a CCG strategy battler in the vein of Hearthstone in which two players duel with their decks. The board contains two lanes—one standard Field and one Shadow—which allows for interesting cover mechanics which protect newly played cards. Those cards are filled with recognizable characters and creatures from the Elder Scrolls universe within the base game and its many DLC packs, from Daggerfall Mages to Skyrim’s Ulfric Stormcloak to the long-running in-joke “arrow in the knee.” These characters are wonderfully interactive, offering appropriate commentary when played and bringing the universe to life.
Players who were already enjoying ES: Legends on iPad received a massive update alongside the transition to phones, with tons of card changes and bug fixes included in this patch. Theme Decks have new tile art, text and images have been adjusted, Solo Arena Decks have had titles added to their opponents, and more changes have been implemented to improve the overall in-game experience that is now shared with players on all devices.
