People who don’t live in winter climates tend to think of the art of snowman-building as literal kids’ stuff. People who actually live in the snowier, icier parts of the world know better.

To build anything close to a competent snowman, you need ample space. And lots of snow. Lots of the right kind of snow. You also need the necessary strength for lifting and placing all three pieces. Finally, you need an iron will to keep from crying when the bad neighborhood kids vandalize all your hard work.

A Good Snowman is Hard to Build is a Sokoban-style action / puzzle game that frames the grand struggle of snowman-building. You must roll your snowman sections despite limited space, limited amounts of snow, and any objects in your way (stupid park benches).

It’s quite a task, but the payoff is worth it. As the “Frosty” song teaches us, a snowman can be a good friend and companion.

A Good Snowman is Hard to Build has been available on Steam since Febraury, but is expected to hit iOS and Android soon. Presumably it’ll arrive by the time the northern hemisphere is thick with a layer of good packing snow.
