Trick or treat. Now surrender all your candy or Dolph and Kearny will egg your house back to the stone age.

Yes, it’s time for Halloween, which means it’s also time for The Simpsons: Tapped Out to update with their annual Treehouse of Horror event.

So what’s on the spOoooOooky menu this year? Lots of fruit, for starters. Fruit is nature’s candy!

No, but seriously. This year’s Treehouse of Horror centers around some kind of dire threat that’s looming over Springfield — some horrid thing that the adults are oblivious to (though “obliviousness” kind of comes standard to Springfield’s grown-ups).

It’s up to the kids to get to the bottom of the phenomenon. Could this be the work of the dreaded reverse vampires? Or did someone (e.g. Bart) say the wrong words over the grave of a dead pet?

Other updates include campfire stories that come to life, costumes, new challenges, and candy, candy, candy.

The update is free. Download The Simpsons: Tapped Out on the App Store and on Google Play.
