Mobile MMOs typically aim to create an experience that’s easy to pick up and play in short bursts, with minimal complexity to appeal to as many people as possible. But when the MMO in question is aiming to be a multiplatform game on mobile, PC, Mac, and consoles, things aren’t that simple.

Thrive Games, the team behind Dragon of Legends, is a small independent development team aiming to bring a connected MMO to virtually every platform under the sun with their unique proprietary game engine. How exactly they plan to streamline a game across all of these platforms remains to be seen, but it’s definitely an ambitious project.

Dragon of Legends will feature fast-paced action combat. Players will have to actually aim and plan their attacks, it won’t be a passive battle system with tab targeting. The world of Havamal promises to be full of intriguing people and interesting things to do. And players can expect to be able to not only customize their characters, but even “shape the game world around them.”

To stay up-to-date on the development of Dragon of Legends, or to sign up for the beta, you can head over to the Thrive Games website. If they can deliver on at least half of their promises, this may end up being one of the most engrossing MMOs to grace mobile devices thus far.
