I’ve been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat X lately. First on my phone, and now (thanks to the game’s midnight launch last night) on my PlayStation 4. Maybe it’s because I’m old enough to be nostalgic for the days of the original Mortal Kombat in the arcades, or maybe it’s just because I want to see how cringe-worthy fatalities are getting. Either way, I’m going to be spending a lot of time perfecting my Sub-Zero skills this week.
I’m not the only one enamored with the game, either. Popular YouTuber Lonnie seems quite smitten with the mobile version — so smitten, in fact, that he’s put together two videos of his Mortal Kombat X playtime.
If you haven’t played it yet, Lonnie’s videos provide a great little showcase of how gorgeous this game looks on your iPhone. A quick glance at my YouTube history this week shows an absurd amount of Mortal Kombat X video watching in preparation for the console version, and honestly, wathing Lonnie’s videos after those proves that the mobile version is damned close.
