Do you like turn-based tactical battles? How about the spirit-crushing nature of the roguelike genre? And dark fantasy settings?

If you said yes to any (or all) of those questions, you’re probably going to want to keep an eye on World of Dungeons, the upcoming “hardcore roguelike RPG” from developer Herocraft.

Players will be able to choose from a variety of classes, equip “hundreds” of class specific items, a delve deep into dungeons to quench their bloodlust and/or treasure-hoarding tendencies. Herocraft are also promising “fierce boss fights” and a PvP mode where you’ll be able to test your band of heroes against the teams of other players.

While Herocraft dabbles in multiple genres (we quite liked 2014’s Marble Duel), most of their success has been in the strategy games market. They’ve even tackled strategic turn-based tactical battles before with Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, which was no doubt a good learning experience for them before tackling a project like this.

No release date has been set beyond a vague “summer of 2015”, but our curiousity is definitely piqued. We’ll be sure to let you know when World of Dungeons hits the App Store and Google Play.
