It was bound to happen.

Paris Hilton, noted socialite, celebrity, and occassional slummer of the simple life, has just entered into a deal with Animoca to use her likeness and name in their mobile apps.

“Paris Hilton is one of the world’s most recognized names and we are thrilled to be able to collaborate with her on mobile gaming titles,” said Animoca Brands CEO Robby Yung. “With Paris’s eye for what’s hot in the latest trends, and our experience at making popular mobile games, we are confident that consumers around the world will be receptive to Paris Hilton mobile games and themes.“

Past games like 'Cover Girl' confirm that Animoca is no stranger to fashion and glamour.

With the runaway success of Glu Mobile’s Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in 2014, we’ve seen countless celebrities announce their own games in its wake. Lindsay Lohan released one, Katy Perry is making one with Glu, and Kim Kardashian-West is promising more mobile goodness is in the works.

Are celebrity partnerships really that lucrative? Considering that publicly traded stock in Animoca Brands shot up 40% after this morning’s announcement, somebody certainly seems to think so.

Animoca won’t be rushing into a mobile game with Paris Hilton; initially their partnership will result in branded virtual items in other Animoca titles, with plans to created Paris Hilton apps in the future. Still – can the release of something like “Star Girl: Paris Hilton” be far behind?

With so many celebrity games in the works, it should be interesting to see which social media socialite comes out on top. Paris Hilton was their reigning queen for a long time. Let’s see what happens when she goes head to head with Kim K and Ms. Perry on the App Store.

Jim Squires is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamezebo. Everything you see passes his eyes first, so we like to think of him as "the gatekeeper of cool stuff." He likes good games, great writing, and just can't say no to a hamburger. Also, he is not a bear.
