It’s been a few weeks since we last looked at great new Android games to play, and the hot titles are piling up. If you’re looking for your next great mobile obsession, you’ll no doubt find it somewhere in these 17 picks.

Entwined Challenge

screen1136x1136[1]A unique PlayStation game that was announced (and released) during E3 earlier this year, Sony has brought their quick reflex game to Google Play – or at least a part of it. The game’s challenge mode has been recreated here in a brand new version with unlockables, a new scoring system and more.

BoxPop_LMovementThe creators of SongPop try their hand at reinventing a classic Chess puzzle (The Knight’s Tour) for modern mobile devices. We liked it in our BoxPop review, and since it’s free, you can find out pretty quickly if you do too.

undefeated1Aldorlea Games finally brings one of their nouveau-retro JRPG games to mobile, and it’s a damned fine one. We put together an Undefeated review earlier this year when it debuted on PC, and it earned a solid four stars. Fans of Alodorlea won’t be too surprised by this – their games rarely disappoint.

2014910235227[1]Love real-time strategy, but love originality even more? If you’ve already played rymdkapsel to death, it’s probably time to move on to ICE. Originally a Ludum Dare entry, this one is all about capturing connected bases (or, more often than not, losing all of your bases and feeling completely defeated).

Anomaly Defenders

Anomaly Defenders ReviewThe Anomaly series is known for its cool reverse-tower defense gameplay, but for the final entry in the series, they’ve turned the tables to prove they can do traditional TD with the best of them. And they can. They really can.

Ironclad Tactics

ironclad-android-juego[1]The Civil War was fought with steampunk machinery and a deck of cards, right? No? Ahhhh..  Well I guess that’s why Ironclad Tactics is a game and not a course on military history.

screen1136x1136[1]A point-and-click adventure game about a terrier that goes to the moon. You’re welcome.

S36rZFQkszmAB19HAAL0oRv2AY439[1]One of our favorite OUYA games has come to Android, and if you’re a Bomberman fan, you should be sure to grab it. A huge selection of mini-games and great controls make this one the game you’ve been wishing Konami would make.

Hellraid: The Escape

Hellraid: The Escape screenThe mobile spin-off to the console game Hellraid plays a little like The Room. It’s not quite as good as you want it to be, but if you’re into games of that sort, how can you pass up an opportunity for more puzzling?

auro1The makers of 100 Rogues are back, and this time they’ve created a hex-based strategy game about a very spoiled little prince. It’s pretty good! Or so says our Auro review.

Goat Simulator

GoatFeatAbsurd, silly, intentionally kinda broken – Goat Simulator on mobile is everything it’s PC counterpart was. If that sounds appealing, you’ll be really happy with this one. If not, you won’t. That’s a Gamezebo guarantee.

screen1136x1136[1]We featured this brutally difficult twitch reaction game back earlier this year as a solid alternative to Flappy Bird, and I’m happy to stand by that claim. Now, for the first time, Android gamers can join in the fun.

Star Wars Commander

commander1Clash of Clans meets Star Wars? Very much yes. Is it as addictive as that sounds? Also very much yes.

Tower Dwellers

screen1136x1136[1]Noodlecake’s latest Android-port is Eccentricity’s tower defense game Tower Dwellers, and as always, their choice of developers to partner with shines with quality. If you’re a fan of TD, this is well worth adding to your repertoire.

FIFA 15 Ultimate Team

fifa-15-ut-headerFIFA games on iOS have always stretched themselves a little too thin, but this year they focus on one mode and do it incredibly well. Footie fans: this freebie is a no-brainer.

Mage Gauntlet

screen1136x1136[1]If you’re a big fan of Wayward Souls, you need to step into the wayback machine and check out Mage Gauntlet. Originally released in 2011, Wayward Souls started life as the sequel to Mage Gauntlet. It’s a splendid action-RPG. Go buy this now.

screen1136x1136[1]It’s not hard. It’s not long. But it’s utterly fantastic. That was the assessment in our Unmechanical review from 2012, and it’s as true now as it ever was. “A sight-seeing tour with puzzles.”
