Shenanigans. It’s an old-timey word reserved purely for old-timey hijinx, and after seeing the trailer for Max Gentlemen, I’m prepared to use it.

The Men Who Wear Many Hats, better known as “those guys that made that zombie Oregon Trail game,” are living up to their studio’s title for their sophmore release: a game about many hats.

Max Gentlemen is an “extreme manners simulator” stacking hats. You’ll do it in a few different modes, and after a quick hands-on I’m pleased to confirm that I’ll be able to use terms like “unlockable hats” and “Octodad in a hat” in our review when it launches later this month.

It’s utterly bizarre. I haven’t decided if that’s a good thing or a bad thing yet, but I’m going to keep playing until I find out.

If you’re at all interested in the world of hat-stacking (or just love the fantastic trailer above), you’ll be able to get your hands on Max Gentlemen on August 21st on iOS, Android and Steam.
