New iOS Games Tonight: Worms 3, Mikey Hooks and more!

One thing I really love about the mobile games industry today is that mobile games can come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes. Not only can I play any type of video game genre that I like within the simple tap of a finger, but I can also lose myself in a number of wild lifestyles and scenarios that could only be possible on the diversity of mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.

For instance, come tonight, I’ll be able to control an army of tough-as-nails worms with a deadly arsenal of the world’s wackiest weapons. Then, when I need a change of pace, I can grab my grappling hook and start swinging around all over the place, before settling in to do some late-night surgery by the light of neon back-alley signs. So what are you waiting for? Keep on reading to see some of the awesome new roles you’ll be able to play in all of the new iOS games heading our way tonight:

Worms 3 – I always knew that worms were more likely to appear during the summertime months, but never before in a capacity like this! While we still have the PC-exclusive Worms Clan Wars just around the corner, Team17 is wasting no time in letting mobile gamers in on all the quirky turn-based action, with the latest highly refined installment in the popular Worms series heading to iOS tonight. With beautiful 3D graphics, tons of wacky weapons and environments, and the long sought-after Pass ‘N Play feature that lets you and your friends play a game of Worms by passing around the same device, Worms 3 is setting its sights to bring the long-lasting strategy series to impressive new heights.

Mikey Hooks – A sequel of sorts to last year’s pitch-perfect platformer Mikey Shorts, everyone’s favorite kid platformer will be returning tonight in Mikey Hooks: and this time around, he’s bringing an all-powerful grappling hook with him to make platforming over dangerous pits and spiky obstacles all the more of a swinging good time. Watching the debut gameplay trailer from BeaverTap Games, there’s just something so smooth and fluid about the way Mikey swings his way through each obstacle-ridden environment, sometimes barely touching the ground for more than a split second before he’s up and off on his merry way again. With 36 exciting platforming levels spread across 6 unique environments, not to mention over 220 disguise items to keep Mikey swinging in style, this one is sure to sink its hooks into you tonight and never let go!

Champs: Battleground – We’ve been looking forward to this one for quite some time now, and after a few last-minute delays, Champs: Battleground will finally be heading to the App Store later tonight. It seems like more and more turn-based strategy games are dipping into the realm of real-time action these days, with Champs: Battleground looking to break the boundaries completely with its own unique blend of fast-paced action and strategy elements inspired by classic titles like Final Fantasy Tactics. In these PvP-heavy multiplayer romps, players will be able to build their own teams of champions from all sorts of classes like Archers, Bandits, and Knights, before unleashing their attacks on a living, breathing chessboard of sorts – as their opponent tries to simultaneously do the very same thing!

Amateur Surgeon 3 – I’ve always believed that Adult Swim’s Amateur Surgeon series contains some of the most criminally underrated games on the entire App Store today – and that’s not just because most of the characters in the games are actual criminals themselves! Tonight’s third installment in this line of extremely gross and over-the-top surgery simulators is set to feature a new advent of tag-team surgeons, who have their own special and unique surgical powers, as you operate on even more bizarre patients like a pug dog names Mr. Giblets. The Amateur Surgeon games are also notorious for their warped and twisted sense of humor that you would only expect to find in an Adult Swim cartoon, and they easily have the fun and addicting gameplay to match.
