As our loyal readers surely know, we’re pretty big fans of Indie Royale. It’s a great way to beef up your game collection for a low price, and the ability to download titles sans DRM sweetens the deal exponentially (take that, The Man!). This week’s offering is the Chosen Bundle, which is actually a repeat of last year’s St. Patrick’s Day bundle. So, if you missed out on it the first time around, now’s your chance to remedy that!

Despite featuring all of the same games, the Chosen Bundle has something of an edge over its predecessor: you don’t have to wear green while you download it. In fact, just to spite Saint Patrick, we recommend wearing red, which is the opposite of green on the color spectrum. It’s totally petty, but that’s what we’re all about here at Gamezebo.

And with that, I’m going to shut up and tell you about the games in this bundle:

  • Hard ResetHard Reset takes the popular concept of shootin’ stuff and puts it in an awesome cyberpunk city. We gave it a 4.5/5 in our review, largely due to its excellent visuals and over-the-top action.
  • Jolly RoverThe best part of Jolly Rover is that you play as a dog. The second best part of Jolly Rover is that it’s an excellent point-and-click adventure game. Much like Hard Reset, we gave it a 4.5/5.
  • Vertex Dispenser – If you fancy yourself a fan of the strategy genre, chances are good you’ll like Vertex Dispenser. It’s worth noting, however, that the game can be excessively trippy at times.
  • DLC Quest – A commentary on the game industry’s DLC practices, DLC Quest is one of the smartest 2D platformers on the market. Just be prepared to get nickel and dimed around every turn. The nerve, right?
  • Lair of the Evildoer – In Lair of the Evildoer, you’re tasked with running and gunning your way out of a dangerous lair. An evil doctor has trapped you there, you see, and according to the game’s description, he kind of hates you.

Buyers will also receive the soundtracks for Hard Reset and Jolly Rover, DLC for Vertex Dispenser, as well as an artbook for Hard Reset. Lastly, should you pay $8 or more, you’ll unlock “O.S.T: Original Soundtrack,” a chiptune album by Daniel Capo.
