Respawnables Preview

So far as humanity knows, each of us only gets one kick at the can. As a result, we’re programmed for self-preservation (though that reflex occasionally tends to click to the “Off” position and suddenly we’re overcome with the urge to imitate a Jackass stunt). But what would happen if life was more like The Respawnables by Zynga and Digital Legends? What if we had not one, but many lives to give on the battlefield? The world would begin to look a lot more like a Looney Tunes cartoon, that’s for sure.

Spawn, shoot, spawn, and shoot some more with Respawnables

So far as humanity knows, each of us only gets one kick at the can. As a result, we’re programmed for self-preservation (though that reflex occasionally tends to click to the “Off” position and suddenly we’re overcome with the urge to imitate a Jackass stunt). But what would happen if life was more like The Respawnables by Zynga and Digital Legends? What if we had not one, but many lives to give on the battlefield? The world would begin to look a lot more like a Looney Tunes cartoon, that’s for sure.

Respawnables

Respawnables is a military-style third person shooter that’s basically about pumping everyone around you full of lead. You can play online or offline, and both modes offer different gameplay experiences. Offline, you work your way through more than 100 battles that are engineered with the single player experience in mind.

Playing offline is ideal training for the game’s online mode, which is where Respawnables really shines. You can work as part of a team, or you can fling yourself into a bloody free-for-all. Playing online also sets you up to win special rewards. However you decide to play, you can expect to eat some lead. If that happens, don’t worry: You’re respawnable!

Despite its seemingly grim premise, Respawnables features rubbery, cartoon-like character models, as well as customizable weapons and soldiers. The game will be out on the App Store soon, and is free-to-play. Keep calm and spawn on.
