Like your average flight simulator, but with PROPELLERS THAT ARE ADORABLE.

I find flight simulators dreadfully boring; sue me! (editor’s note: don’t. Please don’t.) There’s just something far too aimless about commandeering a virtual plane and going to cool places I’m not actually visiting. Almost like Being Grounded: The Video Game. And yet, when Zynga announced today that one of their first third party partner games would be Crash Lab’sTwist Pilot, I couldn’t help but get excited. Why? Because in Twist Pilot you fly a propellor blade with a face.

While not much else is known about the game, isn’t that all you need, sicko!? I don’t think the “having-a-face-iness” of this propellor blade can be understated. It’s got big googly eyes and everything! But that’s not all it’s got, apparently. Oh no. This little propellor blade (who I’m calling Perry until Crash Labs makes me stop) has a mighty desire to adventure the skies. And by skies, I mean something vaguely resembling a maze…or a nursery.

Throughout the game, players will navigate 72 levels collecting stars Perry needs to pay his way through college. Or, in terms that aren’t lies? Chasing high scores by snagging each levels’ stars, avoiding walls and spiders, and making it to the exit in good time. Crash Lab promises a “Platinum Challenge” that will likely be tied to your deftness, as well as “nail-biting” action. Though the latter is just poor health. Shame on you, Crash Lab.

In all seriousness, though, the game’s already kind of won me over with its charming textile aesthetic, and with the propeller. That. Has. A. Face. There’s no release date just yet, but looking carefully at the game’s Youtube trailer tags reveals that Twist Pilot will be hitting the App Store to start, for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Though with the company announced as a Zynga partner, I wouldn’t count out the browser soon after.

Be sure to stay tuned as we update more info on the release date, screenshots, and game details.
