Game Insight is taking their next freemium fantasy cross-platform
Cross-platform play in games is a very exciting prospect to me. It’s not something you typically see in the PC and console market, and while I realize there are valid reasons for that, it doesn’t make me any less excited by how much we’re seeing it in the social and mobile arena. The upcoming free-to-play MMO Dragon Eternity, for example, will enable Android, iOS and browser users to all participate in the same world.
I may have made it sound all chummy just now, but the fictional world in the game (called Adan) will be anything but. Countless monsters and bandits roam the land, and it’s up to the player to take them down at all costs. Many of these evil forces are guarding troves of treasures and riches, meaning there’s plenty of motivation to destroy them. After all, who doesn’t get excited by the prospects of sick loot?
Along with the ability to run around and kill every enemy they encounter, players will be provided over 1,000 quests to partake in. And they won’t be in it alone, as there are 6 different dragon pets to command and 10 dragon mounts to ride. If that amount of dragons comes as a surprise to you, then clearly you missed the title of the game.
All in all, Dragon Eternity will boast many of the features we’ve come to expect from MMOs. There’s a PvP section, gathering and crafting professions, rare items to discover, and collectible armor to defend yourself with. And did I mention dragons? There are totally going to be dragons in this game.
A release date hasn’t been announced by publisher Game Insight, but the web version is currently available in open beta. If you wanted to be a real jerk, you could start playing now and then smoke all of the new people when the game eventually hits iOS and Android. Because winning is everything, and being petty is awesome.
