Slot Heroes for iOS marries the art of war with the fun of gambling

War is Hell, though maybe it’d be a lot cooler if soldiers were generated via slot machines. That’s the basic concept behind Slot Heroes, an upcoming iOS strategy/combat/slot game that’s being put together by Molecube.

In Slot Heroes, the player “army” (composed of a mere few heroes at any one time, but with those big blocky muscles, they’re nothing to sneeze at) on the left side of the screen must face down the opponent army on the right side of the screen. Both sides have a chest filled with coins that needs to be guarded. If the enemy army reaches your chest and empties it of its coins, it’s Game Over–but first they have to battle their way through your boys, same as you must battle your way through their fighters if you want to reach their chest, collect their coins, and achieve victory.

So how do you recruit your heroes? They’re not at the local tavern, so take off your special drinking shirt. You generate your fighters by playing with the slot machine in the upper left-hand corner of the game screen. You stop the three spinning reels by tapping them, thereby manufacturing a soldier with a randomized head, body, and weapon. In some instances, you’ll be able to make all three parts of a fighter match up, and when that happens, it’s clobberin’ time.

Otherwise, the equipment that your fighter is born with determines his speed, HP, and power, so say a prayer to Lady Luck before you head onto the battlefield. Slot Heroes also lets you collect experience points to level up with, though, so not every aspect of your possible victory depends on chance.

There’s no word on a release date yet, so keep up with Gamezebo for the latest on Slot Heroes. You can also visit Molecube’s webpage.
