Breaktime Studios is preparing to open a Sweet Shop on your iPhone
I always wanted to own a candy store when I was kid. Honestly, it’s probably for the best that that particular dream could never come true, because I would’ve wound up becoming way more of a butterball than I was back in those days. However, Breaktime Studios is offering mobile gamers a chance to live out this fantasy from the comfort of their iPhones thanks to theur upcoming simulation title Sweet Shop.
In Sweet Shop, you’ve been hired by the “brilliant (and slightly insane)” Candy Confectioner to run his world famous sweet shop. Though it’s not the biggest place around, people come from all over for the delicious treats that are cooked up there. As the game progresses, you’ll need to decorate the store to attract more customers, grow new ingredients (exactly what type of plants you’ll harvest remains to be seen, but it seems safe to assume that things like sugar cane and cinnamon will be included), and cook up goodies to sell.
Though the game is set to be free, there will be microtransactions available (like picking up animal mascots) via an in-game store. However, you’ll be able to disable in-app purchases if you don’t want to utilize that feature.
Because this is a simulation game, your store will grow from a tiny shop into a massive emporium. While an internet connection isn’t required for the game, you’ll actually be able to play with your friends and exchange gifts online.
Sweet Shop is set to hit the App Store soon. Breaktime Studios is in the process of submitting the game to Apple, so it’s expected that it will be available in the US within two weeks.
