Modern War Preview

Though they only have one iOS game to their name so far, Funzio is a company that seems to know how to make an impact on the App Store. The mobile release of Crime City – a port of their Facebook and Google+ game of the same name – has been riding high on the charts since its release back in August. In fact as I type this, it’s currently sitting at #11 in the iPhone’s Top Grossing Games category, just edging out Smurfs’ Village at #12. Now Funzio is gearing up for their second iOS title, and this time, it’s war.

The makers of Crime City take to the battlefield in the upcoming Modern War

Though they only have one iOS game to their name so far, Funzio is a company that seems to know how to make an impact on the App Store. The mobile release of Crime City – a port of their Facebook and Google+ game of the same name – has been riding high on the charts since its release back in August. In fact as I type this, it’s currently sitting at #11 in the iPhone’s Top Grossing Games category, just edging out Smurfs’ Village at #12. Now Funzio is gearing up for their second iOS title, and this time, it’s war.

Modern War

Modern War takes the same isometric approach to gameplay as Funzio’s earlier game, offering a similar, if not slightly improved visual polish. This time around though, you won’t be building something as simple and tiny as a criminal organization – you’ll be growing a global military empire to take over the world!

Funzio are promising plenty of content, with more than 100 different military units to buy, more than 60 different military buildings to own, 300+ missions, 200+ goals, 30+ areas around the world to explore, and more. Players will also be able to battle each other in live multiplayer, and choose from one of six countries; US, Russia, UK, Germany, China, and Iran.

While there’s no word yet on an official launch date, gamers in Canada (one of the countries not represented in player selection) can get an early start on their war mongering by grabbing it from the Canadian App Store now.
