First Infinity Blade II trailer and screenshots emerge

Earlier today we brought tidings of great joy! Infinity Blade II was announced at Apple’s fall press event, and we were more than excited to help spread the word. Now, only a few hours later, the first official screenshots have hit the web – along with a trailer – to show gamers exactly what they’ll be in for when the game hits the App Store on December 1st.

While no details on the story have emerged yet, the official website for the game says that players will “journey further into the world of the Deathless tyrants and their legion of Titans, building skills and upgrading characters in new ways as they delve deeper into the story of this mysterious, timeless adventure.” Sounds to us like Infinity Blade II will be set in the same world as its predecessor, though I suppose we’ll have to wait until more solid information surfaces sometime between now and December.

One other interesting tidbit has crept out as well. Infinity Blade II will introduce a mode known as “Clash Mob,” in which players will compete in social challenges with other players to unlock rare weapons and exclusive items.

Infinity Blade II announced

Apple sure knows how to drop a surprise in our laps at a press conference. Moments ago at their fall press event, Mike Capps from Epic Games took the stage to unveil their upcoming project, Infinity Blade II. A sequel to last fall’s best-selling iOS game – which Capps claims has earned more than $20 million for Epic so far – you can expect to see Infinity Blade II hit the App Store on December 1st.

Asides from a quick live demo on the show floor, little is known about the title so far. Capps, however, claims that it features “graphics techniques that aren’t even available on home gaming consoles.” A pretty bold claim – but then again, if anyone would know it’s a guy from the company that makes the industry staple Unreal Engine.

Photos from the show floor (courtesy of Engadget’s live blog) show off an oriental theme, though whether or not that will form the bulk of the game is anybody’s guess. Be sure to stay tuned to Gamezebo for all of the Infinity Blade II news as it happens!
