After becoming one of the largest game developers on Facebook thanks to hits like Bubble Island and Monster World, Wooga has now set its sites on the mobile space. And it all starts with Diamond Dash, which is due to hit both the iPhone and iPad later this summer.
The Facebook version of Diamond Dash currently boasts a player base of 10 million monthly active users and 1.7 daily active users. In addition to the pre-requisite addition of touch controls, its upcoming iOS counterpart will also feature Facebook integration and some form of cross-platform play.
While no other announcements were made, Wooga did say that it is “committed to creating original HTML5 based mobile game titles, enabling millions of players to compete and play against their friends around the world, no matter what device they are using.” So it sounds as though we should expect to see not only new games in the future, but those games coming to multiple mobile platforms as well.
Diamond Dash on iOS is expected to launch this summer.
