Fruit Frenzy Preview

Puzzle games are a dime a dozen on the iPhone but how many out there are fruit themed? Not many? I thought so. The upcoming iPhone and iPad title Fruit Frenzy has fruit everywhere, and it’s become so chaotic that players will need to organize it before it fills the screen entirely.

Fruit Frenzy to bring fruit-popping fun to the App Store soon

Puzzle games are a dime a dozen on the iPhone but how many out there are fruit themed? Not many? I thought so. The upcoming iPhone and iPad title Fruit Frenzy has fruit everywhere, and it’s become so chaotic that players will need to organize it before it fills the screen entirely.

Much like another well-known puzzle game Chuzzle, Fruit Frenzy has players lining up fruit in order to make combinations of at least 3. Once a combination is formed the fruit pops and disappears, allowing more fruit to appear in its place.

The game is said to have nearly limitless replayability, which is likely due to its never-ending objective. In the normal and timed game modes there is no arbitrary goal to be found; instead players can play for as long as they can keep the fruit from filling up the screen.

On top of the limitless modes, there is also a Puzzle mode, which does have set tasks for players to complete. One such level has players “Completing a two-row combo” which means they’ll need to set up a specific way for two rows of combinations to pop in succession.

In addition, the graphics have been enhanced for the iPhone 4’s retina display, so it should be a visual treat there. Fruit Frenzy will also be a universal game, meaning it will also have an optimized version for the iPad at no additional cost.

Can’t wait to organize a Fruit Frenzy? The wait will soon be over as White Bat Games is aiming to launch the game in late January or early February for just 99 cents.
