Find out if the legend is real in Bigfoot: Chasing Shadows
The legend of Bigfoot, a large hairy creature said to lurk in the forests of the northwestern United States, has been around for decades. Many people consider the creature to be just another hoax or urban legend, but try telling that to Linda, a reporter who comes face to face with something decidedly Bigfoot-like right in her own backyard.
Co-developed by Reflexive Entertainment and JoyBits (creators of the Cassandra’s Journey series), Bigfoot: Chasing Shadows is a hidden object adventure that follows Linda as she goes in search of the truth – and winds up fighting for her very survival. Are the Bigfoot sightings around Brownswood National Park real, or are they part of a prank set up by people protesting the Axeswim Chemical Corporation’s new chemical plant next to the park who want to draw attention to their cause?
Chasing Shadows is a blend of hidden object and adventure gameplay. As you explore different locations you’ll search for items from a list, such as 7 carrots, 10 fruits, and so on. Some of the items you find will go into your inventory, and will come in handy later on for solving puzzles, such as lighting a fire by using the firewood and matches from your inventory on the empty fireplace.
There’s also a mini-game where you rescue and care for animals from the lab. During our hands-on time with the preview, we rescued a guinea pig by figuring out how to break into its cage, and then cared for it by giving it the food that it asked for.
Whether you believe in Bigfoot or not, you’ll probably be sucked into the folklore anyway if the first 30 minutes of the game are any indication. To find out just what Linda finds when she goes looking for the creature in her backyard, you’ll have to wait until Bigfoot: Chasing Shadows launches later this spring.
